In recent years, the importance of infection prevention and control strategies in nursing homes has grown significantly. With the COVID-19 pandemic prompting changes to regulations and emerging antimicrobial resistant organisms, staying current is a huge challenge infection preventionists face. LeadingAge Iowa recognizes these challenges and is offering a webinar to help infection preventionists and environmental services teams ensure compliance and reduce infection transmission.

This webinar will focus on the collaboration between infection preventionists and environmental services, highlighting the critical role of effective cleaning and disinfection in preventing pathogen transmission. Participants will learn skills to assist environmental services departments in purchasing and using appropriate disinfectants.

In addition, an area under regulatory scrutiny is the water management program. The webinar will provide insights into establishing a safe water management program by identifying critical points in the water system that can reduce the risks of legionella and other bacterial growth.

Who Should Attend
Infection Preventionists and Directors of Nursing. Maintenance and environmental services personnel may benefit from this content as well. Appropriate for SNF/NF providers.
