Cabinets & Committees

The strength of LeadingAge Iowa lies in its membership.  All members are encouraged to be engaged in the association in the manner that best suits their interests and desires.  Input from cabinet and committee members is crucial in the formation of public policy and programming for the Association.  LeadingAge Iowa's cabinets and committees are a vital link between the Board of Directors, staff and membership. As such, they form the backbone of the Association and the work that it does.

Committees

Public Policy Committee
The Public Policy Committee is responsible for the development and implementation of legislative and regulatory priorities and policy recommendations to the LeadingAge Iowa Board of Directors. This hard working committee meets every other Friday at noon by conference call during the Legislative Session and periodically during non-session times. If you enjoy staying on top of “what’s going on,” then this committee is for you.

Awards Committee
The Awards Committee conducts the nomination process and selects recipients of the annual LeadingAge Iowa Awards.  The committee meets annually in July via conference call to conduct the award selection process.


Education Committee

The Education Committee plays a crucial role in ensuring the education throughout the year is engaging, informative, and tailored to the needs of our members. By joining the committee, you'll have the opportunity to share your ideas and provide feedback to create an exceptional events throughout the year.


Cabinets

LeadingAge Iowa is comprised of various member types. These include:

  • Assisted Living
  • Continuing Care Retirement Communities
  • Housing – market rate and subsidized
  • Home and Community Based Services
  • Nursing/Rehab Facilities

Each of these groups is represented by a Cabinet.

Cabinet responsibility:
Cabinets are responsible for identifying the needs of the member type they represent and determining how LeadingAge Iowa can help meet those needs. They are also the governance body that works on the public policy agenda for the member type they represent.
