Assisted Living Fire Safety/Fire Code Updates

This session will focus on the fire safety regulations for assisted living programs. Frequently cited deficiencies will be reviewed as well as plans of correction. We will review the reports that are required that the fire marshal wants to see and discuss expectations for plans of corrections.

  • Identify the top cited deficiencies in assisted living programs.
  • Develop satisfactory plans of correction.

Jake Allspach graduated the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s 35th Basic Academy in April of 2011 as a state trooper assigned to District 16 in Des Moines where he served for three years. From there Allspach transferred to District 8 in Mason City and served 1.5 years before transferring to District 4 in Denison (Guthrie County). While on the state patrol, he held duties as a technical collision investigator and was a member of the State Patrol Honor Guard. In January of 2019 he transferred to the State Fire Marshal Division and is currently assigned to the West Central Territory.
