New Guidance from IDPH for LTC Providers

On the November 2nd IDPH LTC webinar, IDPH reviewed the following pieces of guidance for LTC providers:

The staffing guidance provides recommendations on actions that providers should take to prepare for staffing shortages before and at the onset of a COVID-19 outbreak and outlines the steps providers can take if they reach crisis staffing levels including the potential use of workers returning to work earlier than recommended by the CDC guidance.

The Memory Care Unit Mitigation guidance provides suggested strategies that may assist memory care providers in the battle against COVID-19 whether in an outbreak or not.

Finally, the outbreak checklist contains the information that public health officials review with providers experiencing an outbreak.  The release of this document should help providers ensure that their COVID-19 emergency plans include the information recommended by IDPH and know what to expect if an outbreak occurs.
